“Last year, British producer Stuart Howard released two EPs of slithery, complex-yet-catchy glitch-hop as Lapalux, When You’re Gone and Some Other Time, on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label. Now, he’s got a proper debut LP set for release on the label, too; it’s called Nostalchic, and “Guuurl” is the first single to be let go from it. The song serves as a solid introduction to Howard’s aesthetic, as the damaged tones and slithery vocal sample that open it are gradually submerged in a warm sonic bath of clicking rhythms and swaths of static.” - Pitchfork
Lapalux comes to 51 in March 2013.

SET TIMES FOR TOMORROW
The eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted that Baauer is playing two shows tomorrow night, one in Bristol for us and one in Nottingham. This means that set times are running slightly different to the norm.
22.00-23.00: My Nu Leng (top deck)
22.30-23.00: Daffy
23.00-00.00: Baauer
00.00-01.30: D’lex
01.30-03.00: Daffy
We will be opening the top deck bang on 22.00 with 51 boys My Nu Leng warming up proceedings before the main room opens at around 22.30 with Daffy before Baauer hits at 23.00. D’lex will follow until 01.30 when Daffy will round things up.
Advance tickets holders will have a seperate queue on the night - tickets are still on sale here: www.bit.ly/baauer51 and through Bristol Ticket Shop.

TUESDAY: BAAUER
The love child of Brooklyn and the Internet, Baauer was born out of noise. A sound that began steeped in the 4/4 dance tradition, slowly took on hip-hop tendencies until two became one. Influenced heavily by southern hip-hop and UK bass sounds, Baauer has found himself smack dab in the middle of the electronic renaissance.
He is the delectable fusion of future-crunk and leather shaken aggressively in a bottle for years and has only just opened the top to pour the mixture out. Fight for it, race to the bar, kick and scream, just make sure you get your Baauer drink on, because otherwise you’ll get left, standing in your tracks, jaw dropped, eyes gaping, just watching, and wishing. Trust.

TONIGHT: FLOSSTRADAMUS
Flosstradamus spent the last 8 years breaking new sounds around the globe and becoming club kings in the process. But how do they keep doing it? J2K and Autobot’s knack for flipping your favorite tracks in unexpected new ways (from their earliest DJ blends to high-energy hybrids like the duo’s hit remix of Major Lazer’s “Original Don”) certainly helps. So does having a catalog of original bangers on Fool’s Gold, Green Label Sound and Mad Decent/Jeffree’s.
Yet the real reason Floss has been able to reinvent party rocking for close to a decade is because these Chicago boys bring an irresistible sense of fun to every single set, whether it’s a sweat-soaked nightclub or in front of thousands at Lollapalooza. Armed with a gang of new tunes straight from the studio and a brand new, extra-hype stage show, Flosstradamus is coming back to a town near you… get ready to juke!
